WEEE Compliance Statement

Our corporate commitment to WEEE regulations, raw material reclamation, and the UK waste hierarchy.

Last Updated: 2nd June 2026

1. Regulatory Alignment

Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013, organisations must handle and track all discarded electronic components in a compliant manner. Clearcycle IT Ltd operates in full alignment with the Environment Agency (EA) waste management guidelines.

2. Environment Agency Licensing

We hold a registered Upper Tier Waste Carrier Licence (Licence Number: CBDU123456) issued by the Environment Agency. We are legally authorized to collect, transport, and transfer electrical and electronic waste from commercial, industrial, educational, and public sector properties.

3. The Waste Hierarchy

Clearcycle IT operates in accordance with the UK Waste Hierarchy, prioritizing waste prevention and reuse over simple recycling:

  • Prevention & Reuse: We test, repair, and upgrade functional computers and laptops, giving them a second lifecycle in schools, charities, and community groups.
  • Recycling: Obsolete or broken electronics are systematically disassembled in UK facilities. Scrap metal, glass, and plastic are sorted and sent for industrial reuse.
  • Disposal: We maintain a strict zero waste to landfill guarantee. No electrical waste under our care is ever sent to landfill.

4. Duty of Care Documentation

For every collection we complete, we issue a formal WEEE Transfer Note detailing the EWC code, quantity, and classification of the waste gathered. This document serves as legal proof that your organisation has met its environmental duty of care compliance under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
