Safe and Simple IT Disposal for Schools

Protect Pupil and Staff Data

The records kept by a school about pupils, parents and staff are a concern for schools. It is the responsibility of each school to decide what they want to do with the IT equipment. It is possible that old equipment will still contain records of emails and personal files that the school has created. Deleting a file on a computer may not always be enough to ensure the records remain private.

Our IT equipment removal service offers a secure way for schools to remove old IT equipment. We are happy to pick up old IT equipment that is fit for repurposing but also will come to pick up old IT equipment for secure destruction and data wipe for the equipment that has data storage capabilities. When our team picks up the equipment, we will also leave documentation so the school can keep records and track what has been taken.

Our team can come to schools at different levels (primary, secondary, academies, and trusts) for pickup services. We also offer to collect the IT equipment at times that best fit your schedule in order to avoid disrupting school hours and lessons.

Why are 4 safeguarding rules critical for school collections?

Educational sites hold a strict duty of care regarding on-site visitors. To ensure student safety and protect learning environments, Clearcycle IT enforces four safeguarding rules during school IT collections:

  • DBS-Checked Staff: All attending logistics technicians undergo Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background checks. This ensures only background-cleared crews enter the school premises.
  • Escorted On-Site Transit: Clearcycle IT crews remain accompanied by a school representative during hardware removal from classrooms, IT labs, and server rooms.
  • Branded Identification: Every driver wears branded uniforms and carries photographic identification cards displaying their full clearance status for visitor log verification.
  • Planned Out-of-Hours Pickups: Collections are scheduled during school holidays or outside class hours to prevent disruption to pupils. Examples of scheduled collections include summer breaks, half-term breaks, and after-school windows.

These protocols protect school business managers from liability, ensuring that e-waste clearance matches the safeguarding standards mandated by the Department for Education (DfE).

Recycle Old Computers and Laptops

Old computers don’t necessarily need to be trash. If a machine works, with the appropriate checks and a complete data wipe, the computer may be ready for another home. Everything else can be recycled in a sustainable manner.

This reduces the quantity of e-waste and promotes a smarter use of valuable resources. Schools are given more options in determining the most appropriate means of updating IT infrastructures.

Clear Cycle IT offers reliable colleges IT disposal services to help colleges remove unwanted equipment safely and easily. We support small clearances, IT upgrades, and larger projects across multiple rooms or sites.

Our team learns about your equipment, collection needs, and site requirements before planning the removal. We aim to reduce your workload, protect stored data, and make your equipment disposal process simple and organized.

Clear Computer Rooms and IT Labs

Old desktops and cables are easy to collect and end up occupying precious space within a classroom. Your college could instead use that space to meet other needs.

Our collection service provides you the ability to quickly and easily clear rooms in preparation for the latest equipment. We’ll meet with you to determine your collection needs, then create a plan to ensure minimal disruption for students and staff.

Support for Large IT Upgrades

Computer systems replacement projects are huge projects for colleges. An unclear process can result in IT staff doing unnecessary work.

We remove equipment by processing and, if you request, secure removal services. In addition, our services provide detailed records of equipment removed from your site for future reference.

Colleges with multiple sites should reach out and discuss their collection requirements and volumes for best services.
